A Gentle Advent
Slow conscious celebrations to share with your children. Low-effort, inexpensive and, above all, simple.
A Secular guide to help you create Advent memories with your children that are founded upon connection and warmth.
It’s so important to me that we infuse our own family celebrations with heart and thought and a lot of slowness. I think these are the memories that childhood rests in; the handmade, the hand spun, and the well-told. A slow weaving of the extraordinary into our ordinary everyday, lovingly layering small glittering specks of magic until the big day.
I enjoyed writing these experiences for my own daughter so much, that I wanted to share them with you too.
These advent experiences have been carefully written with the intention to prevent the kind of Christmas build up that leaves both your children and you exhausted. Less of the overwrought and overtired, more festive cheer with an emphasis on the simple and gentle.
In this twenty-four day guide there are
steiner-inspired stories for you to weave into your everyday, one traditionally waldorf and three written by myself
crafts and recipes that are low-waste and low-effort
activities which focus on small acts of kindness
verses and rhymes to share with your children
and a printable calendar
Each and every page can be moved around to your family’s needs, you can replace and ignore as much as you like, and you can make it your own. I believe this season is about joy, and I hope this guide helps you find a little more of it.
