A limited Imbolc offering

A bath soak to be used in a ritual bath, crafted to honour the goddess Brigit. Imbolc is the whispers of spring, the very beginning of the unfurling, when the Cailleach - the old, wise one - was born again as Brigit - goddess of spring, healing, fire, poetry, livestock and milk. This bath milk is inspired by the root of the word Imbolc, ‘omeilc’ which means “ewe’s milk”.

This bath soak contains powdered cow’s milk, Zechstein magnesium flakes, pine needles and rosemary. The very look of it reminds me of a snowy forest floor littered with pine needles on the cusp of spring, it speaks to me of a world about to wake up.

Milk baths have been used for millennia - most famously by Cleopatra - said to nourish the skin, while Zechstein magnesium flakes relax and soothe. Both pine and rosemary have long been associated with Brigit, and have protective qualities, often burned or smoked in ritual to protect the hearth and home.

For a ritual bath pour ½ to 1 cup of bath milk into a warm bath, or for a more potent bath steep the mixture like a tea in hot water until cooled before emptying into the bath. Breathe with intention.
