A limited Imbolc offering

Drawn from the woods of my home, a love letter to English woodland. Woodland Weed balm was inspired by three of my most beloved weeds , the unassuming healers underfoot. Nettle, yarrow and plantain extracted into olive oil, and then blended with beeswax. For bruises, bites, dry skin and aching joints.

Nettle:
An incredibly nutritive herb, nettle is a Mars herb which accounts for its spiky and hot nature yet it helps to control inflammation in the body. Nettle has historically been used to treat rheumatism and arthritis, help with histamine responses, and used topically is thought to treat swelling and soothe aching joints.

Plantain:
Known as the band-aid plant, plantain has often been used as a poultice for bites and stings. An astringent, she has the ability to draw and pull tissue together, with known antimicrobial qualities. An age-old medicine, and very soothing in nature.

Yarrow:
Named in Latin for the Greek hero Achilles for the way he was said to have used yarrow to heal wounds and staunch bleeding. A Venus herb, yarrow is antiseptic and known for its contradictory nature, both warming and cooling, with the ability to both stem bleeding and move stagnant blood. She has long been used to heal skin.
