The Samhain candle offerings

The Samhain candle offerings
In recognition of this time of Samhain - not a day, but weeks of descent into the dark half of the year - when the veil is thin and the bridge between the physical realm and the spiritual is said to be at its shortest. It is a time across cultures in which we honour our ancestors, crafting altars in their honour and speaking to their memory.
Crafted from local beeswax and dyed in house, two candles hand-poured to honour this time. Price is for one individual candle of your choosing, choose which option you would like accordingly.
The Samhain candle
A black candle rolled in rosemary. Rosemary has been used in many traditions and cultures for both protection and remembrance, while black candles are often burnt in protection spells and to banish negative energy. This candle can be used to protect at a time when the veil is thinnest, and to remember ancestors and loved ones.
The Hag Torch candle
A dark green candle rolled in mullein. Mullein torches were often created around this time of Samhain, when the old stems of mullein were dipped in beeswax to burn as torches. In lieu of an abundance of mullein stems, I offer this candle in their stead to honour that tradition. Green candles are often burnt for abundance and grounding.
These are spell candles for ceremonial use on altars. They are rolled in herbs which are flammable, and as such these candles must never be burnt unattended. If you burn one, it is best done on a large plate to catch the wax. These are burnt at your own risk.
